NASA Images Reveal A 1,750,000-Year-Old Bridge Between India And Sri Lanka

The NASA Shuttle has imaged a mysterious ancient bridge between India and Sri Lanka, as mentioned in the Ramayana. The evidence, say experts matter-of-factly, is in the Digital Image Collection.

The recently discovered installation, currently named as Adam’s Bridge and made of a chain of shoals, 30 km long, in the Palk Straits between India and Sri Lanka, reveals a mystery behind it. Its unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man-made. This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, according to which the bridge was built under the supervision of Lord Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme.

According to historic data, the first signs of people in Sri Lanka date back to the Stone Age – 1.750 000 million years ago, while the age of the bridge is dated the same.  Legend says that these people came from the South of India and got to the island through the bridge which connected the Indian subcontinent to Sri Lanka.

However, one of the Hindu legends states that the bridge was built to transport Rama, hero of the Ramayana, to the island to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana.bridge2

This information might not be of a high importance to the archaeologists who are interested in investigating the origins of a man , but it does open spiritual doors of the people who have come to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology.
